What is ChatGPT?
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) research company OpenAI has launched the artificial-intelligence chatbot called ChatGPT. It was released in November 2022, ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that can have conversations on topics from general information to spirituality, solves difficult math and programming questions, suggest career options and many more. You just need to ask any question around globe it will answer in few seconds with its own AI.
ChatGPT is an AI which is trained on basis of social-media posts, websites and articles available on internet. It also considers the real-time conversations with human contractors in English which are hired by OpenAI. It takes data and then learn writing and grammar structure and show the results according to its learning.
The strategy of OpenAI was to developed a chatbot like ChatGPT to build an AI software that can enhance productivity and profitability of companies. Its strategic partner Microsoft, has already invested more than $3 billion in OpenAI and said to go upto $10-billion. It plans to incorporate ChatGPT into its Bing search app and other products.
How do ChatGPT and other AI chatbots work?
In ChatGPT, the GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. AI Chatbot is incorporated with many transformers. These transformers find long-range patterns through its specialized algorithm in its data sequences. A transformer learns from the available data with its proximity. It use to predict next word in a sentence, next sentence in a paragraph and the next paragraph in an article. It allows AI chatbot to stay on a topic and its results for any text available in its database. AI finds the pattern and then infuse that pattern in its intelligence and when user ask any query any text, it gives results available in its intelligence database related to that particular text.
ChatGPT works on available online text data througout the internet; it learns the structure and rules of language and it rely on dialogue transcripts to learn conversation which actually is the Chat in ChatGPT.
How much does ChatGPT cost?
ChatGPT is completely free. When OpenAI released ChatGPT as a research preview on a dedicated website openai.io, it was made for users to try it for free . Now OpenAI also launched a premium version on 1st feb in the USA through which users can get its access on priority. Its cost is $20 per month.
Google Vs ChatGPT
There is lot of discusion going on that ChatGPT can replace google, ChatGPT is Google killer etc. There is very little truth in these phrases. Google is a search engine for content, it is helps in searching the content for users. In Google, the information consumer is general public and information publisher is also general public. While ChatGPt is a chatbot it works on available data and has its limitations. Even when ChatGPT is asked that it can kill Google- its answer was “It cannot kill Google on contrary it will assist Google to benefit both readers and publishers.” So as of now both ChatGPT and Google will going to stay for long.
Google has also launched its ambitious AI chatbot BARD, it is intended to compete with ChatGPT. Bard AI is brought with intention to de-clutter the information and for enhancing the user experience.
Can ChatGPT and AI bots going to replace jobs?
Chatbots are not new, we have chatbot in banks websites, railway/airplane websites, customer care services etc. The bots Disha, Keya, Alexa etc. all are chatbots, now you can compare as a solution providers how much they are effective and how much trust is built on them. People still want human interaction for trust building and solution for their queries. But it is also true whenever a new technology comes in, it disrupts the market. There are some jobs are on threat, some jobs will become redundant and some new jobs will be created.
Still it is difficult to predict exact job scenario, researchers have found that organizations adopt automation will increase their productivity and it will create more jobs in market. There is also possibility that some workers have fewer career growth opportunities or decrease in their wages. There is always a need of upskill and remain updated as per the new job scenario.

When calculators invented it was also threat to some people jobs who are not ready to accept the change that is to use calculators. But in reality the jobs were created for calculators programming and then its manufacturing, distribution and sales. Same way the ChatGPT is here for assisting and never to snatch the overall jobs.
